After you have procured the installation support connect it to the PC on which you want to recover the Windows 10 password. Start the PC and start the installation media by setting it as the primary device via the BIOS.
As soon as you reach the first screen where it asks for your language, do not click on Next but press on the keyboard simultaneously SHIFT and F10.
It will open the Commands prompt that we will use to retrieve access to your account on Windows 10.
Now you have to enter the following commands inside the Command prompt. For each line, you have to click on Enter.
copy d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe d:\ copy /y d:\windows\system32\cmd.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe
After completing the process, turn off the computer by holding down the power button. Remove the Windows 10 installation media and then turn on the computer.
When you arrive on the login password screen click on the accessibility button at the bottom right and you will see the Command prompt open.
Now through the Commands prompt, we will create a new user with administrator privileges through which you can retrieve the password of the old account.
As first copy the following code strings by clicking on Enter after each line.
net user {user_name} /add net localgroup administrators {user_name} /add
Instead of {user_name} enter a name for the’account that must be different from the one you had before. After this closes the Command prompt and restarts the PC.
When you restart Windows you will also find the new user created via the Command prompt.
Sign in with this new account and right-click on the Windows symbol and click on the Computer Manager. From the left menu go to Users and local groups/Users.
All accounts on your PC will be shown. Right-click on the locked account and click on Password Setup.
Now you can reset a new password and finally recover access to your old account.
Now all that remains is to delete the possibility to access the command prompt through the Accessibility button.
