Good morning dear readers of Tecnogalaxy, today we will talk about how it is possible to enter the metaverse, and specifically how is the world of Decentraland.

To understand, the metaverse is essentially a fusion of virtual, augmented and physical reality and blurs the boundary between your online and real-life interactions. But more simply, it’s a handful of platforms like Sandbox, Mirandus, and Decentraland where people can interact in different ways. Interest has soared since Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook would change its name to Meta and spend at least $10 billion on the metaverse. And as more and more people start to bet on a future embedded in the metaverse, companies have already started new initiatives in this digital space.

Decentraland, one of the most popular metaverse platforms for users around the world. To participate in most of these types of platforms, such as Sandbox, you’ll need your crypto wallet and a PC.

If you were looking for a full metaverse experience, a laptop might not be enough. Although smartphones and computers are able to handle multiplayer games like Fortnite and Animal Crossing… Their processing power may be too limited to handle entire universes with millions of users. That’s why the vision of the Facebook metaverse includes users with Oculus VR headsets or augmented reality glasses.

Create an Avatar

The first thing you need to do in order to enter the metaverse is to create your own avatar. The customization panel is full of options to customize hair and eye color, clothes and even accessories.

Start exploring this Metaverse

After spending too much time deciding on the perfect outfit, you will finally be left at Genesis Plaza, a starting point within Decentraland. This was definitely the busiest area of the platform, other people’s avatars appeared from anywhere, any direction. You can of course walk, but a more convenient way to get around is to use the map, which allows you to teleport to the next location.

On the map was a place called “We are Polkadot!” After teleporting you inside, however, at that time it was empty, but, there was a vending machine and it was a jukebox that were in the corner.

The second place you can visit is “The Crypto Valley“, where there was hardly anyone, this time it was not an empty room, but an empty room with walls decorated with drawings of several hexagonal blockchain.

The third place, even the busiest one is a game, the “Wonder Mine Crafting Game“. The premise of the game is that meteors hit the ground and from these meteors you can extract minerals that then of course you can sell to receive money.

Coin

MANA is the native cryptocurrency of Decentraland, a virtual world where users can own land and interact with other users. It can be used to buy plots of land, avatars and “wearables” such as clothes and accessories. For this reason, in the last period this crypto has had a fairly consistent rise, thanks to the latest investments that have been made in this platform.

Friendship

While you are playing Wonder Mine Crafting Game, you will quietly manage through the chat to know and write with some fellow meteor miners. Although in the metaverse you can be whoever you want to be, you can’t help but notice that all the avatars I saw were all male.

Local

Some other locations that are very busy and that have drawn my attention on the map of Decentraland are: Lobsteropolis, Club Nyan Cat and Dragon City and last but not least the Jazz Club.

This is all about the Metaverse, to a forthcoming article.
